Garden Tractor update

As some of you know, on Thanksgiving I went to Sears and paid for my new Garden tractor.  Delivery to be in a week… well, it would not start so the wonderful guy at Sears ordered a new fuel filter.  It came in and was installed… still no working tractor!  Then he did more work, flushed fuel lines etc.. it would run.. he even ran it around parking lot etc.  Delivery rescheduled for last Monday… It arrived, I had them start it while still on truck.  Kid cranked it up, and shut it off after about 30 seconds.   We got it unloaded.  I got on it and cranked it up.. 30 seconds and it quit.  The guys said it was out of fuel.  After they left I went and got fuel, filled it about a gallon or so.  Tried to start it… nothing…   Waited till next day when it was nice and warm out (above 30 deg).  Used the cold start instructions, choke etc… cranked, ran a few seconds, backfired and quit!   Now I am getting really aggravated with it… Wed.  had neighbor come watch me crank it so we knew I was doing it right… rugggaaa ruggaaa.. nothing.  (I was doing everything right).  Thurs.. today.. I went to Sears and told salesman.. he and I agreed It IS a lemon… actually probably from sitting 6 mos with old gas fouled the carburetor.  So he went to order me a new one… that was last years model… new years one is about $700. more.  BUT, he made prices match and ordered new one… also had a few hiccups with getting the account address changed but all is well on that end. (I have not gotten a bill or new card .. they messed up address change!)

I will keep you updated on this mess.

The dump bucket, sleeve hitch and box scraper came and they look fine.  Yard is not as squisshy as it was, but more snow coming.. that is ok by me!

Tomorrow I will start ordering plants, seeds etc.

I did get into the local Master Gardner program, classes start next week.. You all in WY should be happy.. the class here is almost  $300.!  two nights a week for 10 weeks.  But I am looking forward to it and will keep you updated here.
